How Do You Automatically Forward WhatsApp Messages to Telegram?

A WhatsApp group you cannot leave carries the information you actually need: a suppliers group, a building condo, a family list. This page shows how to relay its messages into Telegram, where you can search, organise and filter them properly. The same setup moves messages from WhatsApp to another WhatsApp chat, if that is where you want them.

First, the risk to the number

WhatsApp does not allow automation officially. Phantom connects to your number like a linked device, through an unofficial library, and WhatsApp can permanently ban numbers used this way. Link a dedicated number and keep your personal one out of it. The full picture is on the safety page linked below.

What you need

  • A Phantom account on the Gold plan or above: WhatsApp forwarding starts at Gold and is not part of the free trial.
  • A dedicated WhatsApp number, linked from the WhatsApp page in the dashboard with a QR code or a pairing code.
  • Your Telegram account connected as usual, with your phone number and the login code.

Create the rule

  1. Link your dedicated WhatsApp number in the dashboard, if you have not yet.
  2. Create a new rule and pick the WhatsApp chat or group as the source: your WhatsApp chats appear in the same picker you use for Telegram, by name.
  3. Pick the destination: any Telegram channel, group or private chat your account can write in.
  4. Add filters or transformations if you want them, and save the rule.
  5. Post a test message in the WhatsApp source and check it arrives in Telegram.

What arrives in Telegram

Text, photos, videos, documents and voice notes are relayed with their content. A few WhatsApp shapes do not survive the trip: replies-to and albums arrive as separate plain messages, and messages that carried buttons arrive as text only. The destination looks like a normal Telegram message from your account, so a header or footer you set is a good way to show where it came from.

WhatsApp to WhatsApp as well

Telegram is not the only destination: the same rule shape relays a WhatsApp group into a private WhatsApp chat, or one group into another. The source picker is the same; only the destination changes.

Common questions

Does every message in the WhatsApp group get forwarded?

Every message the rule lets through. Without filters, that is everything posted in the source chat or group; with keyword, sender or media filters, only what passes them.

Will WhatsApp users see that messages are forwarded?

Nothing is posted back into the WhatsApp source. What happens in the destination depends on the plan and the mode: in a Telegram destination you can stay invisible while forwarding with Ghost Mode.

Can I forward from WhatsApp to WhatsApp instead of Telegram?

Yes. Pick the second WhatsApp chat as the destination. Groups and one-to-one chats both work on either side.

Why does my WhatsApp number need to be a dedicated one?

Because WhatsApp can permanently ban numbers used with unofficial automation. Losing a spare number is an inconvenience; losing your personal account means losing your chats, groups and contacts with it.

Does the forwarding stop when my phone is offline?

It keeps running on the service's servers. The only requirement is that the phone with the WhatsApp number comes online at least once every 14 days, or WhatsApp drops the linked session.
