How Do You Automatically Translate Forwarded Telegram Messages?
The channel worth following publishes in Russian; your readers speak Italian. Translating by hand is not a plan, and posting the original leaves most of your audience out. Translation happens while the message is in flight: the source publishes in its language, your destination receives it in yours.
The languages covered
Ten: English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic. You choose the language of the destination; the language of the source does not need to be declared, because it is recognised from the message itself.
One rule translates into one language. If the same source has to reach two audiences in two languages, that is two rules with the same source and different destinations.
What survives the translation
A translation rewrites the text, so the fine-grained formatting of the original โ a word in bold in the middle of a sentence โ cannot be preserved word for word: the sentence itself has changed. Attachments, links and your own header and footer are unaffected.
If a source uses fixed labels you do not want translated, a find-and-replace rule after the fact is the practical way to put them back exactly as you want them.
What it costs, and what happens when the credit runs out
Translation is charged per use against your AI credit rather than being included in the plan, because the cost depends entirely on how much you translate.
The behaviour when the credit reaches zero is the part worth knowing: the message is still relayed, untranslated. The AI step is skipped, nothing is lost and nothing is held back, and you are told once that the credit has run out rather than discovering it from a silent gap in the destination. That is deliberate: a translation that does not happen is an inconvenience, a message that never arrives is a failure.
When it is worth it, and when it is not
- Worth it: a source that publishes consistently in one language and a destination that consistently reads another.
- Worth it: short, factual posts โ signals, alerts, headlines โ where translation is reliable and the value per message is high.
- Less so: a chatty group full of slang and in-jokes, where a translation reads oddly and a bilingual audience would have coped anyway.
- Not the tool: single messages. It applies to everything the rule relays, not to a selection.
Which plans include it
Translation is part of the AI features, which belong to the Platinum plan and are not included in the 7-day trial. The plan comparison is on the pricing page.
Common questions
Can Telegram messages be translated automatically while forwarding?
Yes. The rule translates each message into the language you choose before it reaches the destination, across ten languages including English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic.
Do I have to say which language the source is in?
No, only the language you want to receive. The source language is recognised from the message.
What happens when my AI credit runs out?
The message is still relayed, just untranslated: the AI step is skipped rather than the message being held or lost, and you are told once that the credit has run out.
Can one rule translate into two languages at once?
No, one rule translates into one language. Two audiences in two languages means two rules with the same source.
