How Do You Shorten Long Telegram Messages While Forwarding Them?

Some sources write long. An analysis that runs to a thousand characters is worth having and unreadable in a destination where people scroll through forty messages a day. A summary keeps the substance and gives back the length โ€” and, unlike a maximum-length filter, it does not throw the message away.

Only what is actually long

A threshold decides what gets touched: below it, the message is relayed exactly as written; above it, it is shortened. This is the setting that makes the feature usable, because summarising a two-line alert produces a worse two-line alert and spends credit doing it.

Set the threshold at the length where a message stops being scannable in your destination. A few hundred characters is a reasonable place to start.

Three ways to shorten

Bullet points are the one to try first for anything structured: a long post that is really a list reads far better as a list, and the transformation is close to lossless.

  • Brief โ€” the shortest form, a couple of sentences carrying the point.
  • Detailed โ€” shorter than the original but keeping the reasoning, for sources whose value is in the argument.
  • Bullet points โ€” the same content broken into points, which suits lists of levels, targets or steps.

What a summary is not

It is a shortening of what was written, not a judgement of it: nothing is added, no conclusion is drawn that the author did not draw. Numbers, levels and names carry the same weight as everything else and can be affected by the shortening, which is the honest reason to prefer the detailed or bullet form for anything where a figure matters.

If the goal is to keep the message intact and merely reduce the flood, a length filter or a delay is a better fit: a summary changes the words.

Cost, and what happens without credit

Summaries are charged per use against your AI credit, and the threshold is the main thing that controls the bill: a well-set threshold means most messages never touch the AI at all.

When the credit runs out the message is relayed in full, unshortened. Nothing is held back or lost, and you are told once rather than finding out from a destination that has quietly gone back to being long.

Which plans include it

Summaries are part of the AI features, which belong to the Platinum plan and are not included in the 7-day trial. The plan comparison is on the pricing page.

Common questions

Can long Telegram messages be shortened automatically when forwarded?

Yes. Messages above a length you choose are summarised before reaching the destination; shorter ones are relayed untouched. Three forms are available: brief, detailed and bullet points.

Will short messages be summarised too?

No. The threshold exists precisely to leave them alone โ€” summarising a two-line alert makes it worse and spends credit doing it.

Is a summary reliable for numbers and levels?

A summary shortens what was written and can affect any part of it, figures included. Where numbers matter, the detailed or bullet form is the safer choice, and a length filter is better still if the message must arrive intact.

What happens if the AI credit runs out?

The message is relayed in full, unshortened. Nothing is lost, and you are told once that the credit has run out.
